I am running for State Senate District 07 which includes part of the city of Mauldin and part of the city of Greenville. (You can see a map of John’s District by clicking here)

I am running for office again because there is no difference in the voting records between Democratic and Republican officials. Both parties are reflecting values of socialism. I want to return to you, the people, your voice in government.

Two examples of this socialism in action are:

1) The unwillingness to protect the citizens of South Carolina from the flood of illegal aliens while giving those same aliens social services and special statuses that hardworking citizens do not have.

And

2) The state’s consistent hunger for your paycheck to pay for failed programs and pocket lining.

An example of special services for illegals is if an illegal alien walks into a hospital emergency room they receive free medical care. If you or I walk into a hospital we are asked for our name, address and SS number and then the hospital sends us a bill--regardless of if we have insurance or not.

On immigration our legislature is either in someone’s pocket or afraid to do their job which is to serve and protect the citizens. That alone should be enough reason for their removal.

Four years ago Patrick Tyndall ran for US Senate on the Constitution Party ticket. He vehemently told us the illegals were coming in droves. Two years ago when I ran for State House, I informed you that South Carolina was fourth in the nation in Latin growth. Today, South Carolina is NUMBER ONE in the nation in Latino growth. Why? Because the US and SC Legislature did not and would not represent us and serve us.

On the score of State and Local Governments wanting more of your money, just look to the school board over-taxing us, knowing full well that 4 mill per year is the cap. Having a 6 million dollar over-taxation, the school board has no authority to return the money except by means of taxpayers suing for it and having an Administrative Law Judge order it.

According Greenville News, State Senator David Thomas called the situation “highly unusual.” Senator Thomas was quoted as saying, “You can rest assured, though, that the school district is not going to give the money back.”

Looking to the state, the Republican led general Assembly has increased government spending nearly twice as fast as the national average for 2004 through 2006, with a 41% augment. This is nearly double the 23.8% average escalation rate.

According to NASBO, (National Assoc of State Budget Officer) the average state government increased spending by 6.5%, 8.7% and 8.6% respectively in 2004 through 2006.

Another issue relating to our taxes is our tax bills. 55% of property and vehicle taxes go for funding public schools. The school budget allots approximately $10,000 per student, yet the majority of this money never makes it to the classroom. South Carolina public schools are still among the worst in the country. They are turning out graduates who cannot read, write or do arithmetic.

When I go to McDonalds and my bill is $4.05, I give the cashier $5.05. She doesn’t know what to do with the extra nickel and looks dumbfounded. I have to tell her how much change she owes me. This is indicative of many of today’s public school graduates.

When I get to Columbia I will encourage and cultivate legislation to protect South Carolina citizens from out of control and unregulated illegal alien population and the rapidly growing abuses of Pork Barrel Spending by politicians who are totally cut off from the real world.

I need your help and support to achieve these objectives. I want to restore “we the people” back into government and I can’t do that without you. I need your input on issues and legislation as well as your financial support for my campaign.

Please contact me if you have an issue you would like to discuss.

Thank you.
